December 4, 2021A note of thanks to the 65 donor families and individuals who made possible improvement work in the church interior from Aug to Oct 2021. The most important work was the repair and maintenance work of the two church side altars, referred to as “Mary” and “St. Joseph” side altars: plaster work, patching, prime and finish painting tasks along with touch up work on gold leaf painting and new LED dimable light bulbs were completed the past two months, primarily by Summit Painting. Thank you Bob Gross, Ron and crew from Summit. We were able to raise $25,050 including the $10,000 challenge matching grant from an anonymous parishioner. For 2022, painting and repair work of the church vestibules and other minor paint work is being planned. Any additional donations received will be applied for 2022. A “Maintenance” envelope will be provided in the monthly packet for all of 2022 to all registered parish households. Again, thank you everyone!
Reminder: The Oct 17, 2021 benefit dinner/event to help two families and the Lourdes Shrine (Chardon Road, Euclid, Ohio), will be held in the new parish hall, 6022 Lausche Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44103. Serving time will be 10:45Am-to-1:30PM. Sit-down and take-out dinners will be available.
Menu is: roasted chicken or roast beef, Slovenian style soup, Slovenian potatoes, salad, Italian green beans, bread/butter, and pastry dish. Cost is $20 adult and $15 for child 12 years-old or younger. Only 500 dinners will be available. Reserved dinner tickets may be ordered by calling the parish rectory at (216) 361-1444 or via email at “skuhar@hotmail.com” All checks should be made payable to “St. Vitus Endowment Corporation” and mailed to: St. Vitus Rectory, benefit event, 6019 Lausche Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44103. Weekend Masses at St Vitus Church are: 4:00PM Saturday Vigil mass and Sunday, 9:00AM and 10:30AM.
