St. Vitus Summer Parish Picnic. July 18, 2021. On Slovenska Pristava.
St. Vitus Parish will have its annual parish picnic on JULY 18, 2021 (SUNDAY) at Slovenska Pristava, a recreational facility in Harpersfield, Ohio. There is no admission or parking charge. Mass will be at Noon in the main pavilion with reverend John Retar, seventh pastor, St Vitus Parish, will be the principal celebrant. Immediately AFTER the Noon Mass, there will be a pork schnitzel dinner under the direction of head cook Joe Tavcar. Only 300 dinners will be available. It is strongly recommended to PRE-ORDER in advance dinner ticket(s) by: calling the parish rectory at (216) 361-1444. Or via email to “skuhar@hotmail.com” Cost is $15 adult and $10 child 12 years-old or younger. Your pre-ordered tickets will be at the treasury table in ascending last name alphabetical order. You can eat either outside or in Lausche Hall.
The fabulous and famous “cevapcici” dinners will be available starting around 2:15-2:30PM by the grill by the dance pavilion.
Entertainment will begin in the early afternoon with the fine sounds of the 13-piece and multiple singers, The Cleveland TOPS Swing Band for your listening and dancing pleasure. with members of Veseli Godci to perform in the late afternoon.
The kitchen will then be open from 2:00PM until around 6:00PM, serving side food dishes such as hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, French fries, Slovenian style klobase, Slovenian style potatoe salad, and side salad dishes. Refreshments will also be available throughout the entire afternoon AFTER the Noon Mass. You will find a wide variety of fine wines available from our neighbor, Kosicek Vineyards, a Geneva, Ohio wine establishment, as well as beer, cold drinks and other wonderful refreshments to cool you off on a summer day. Other activities include open swimming (nominal fee for non-members of Slovenska Pristava), selling of home-made pastry, Chinese raffle, and a main raffle. Net proceeds will be for the needs of the St. Vitus Parish.
Directions to Slovenska Pristava: Take I-90East to the Geneva Exit (Route #534). Take Rte 534 south to South River Road, about two miles. Turn right on South River Road.
