St Vitus Summer Parish Picnic. July 14, 2019. At Slovenska Pristava, Harpersfield, Ohio
St. Vitus Parish summer picnic will be held on JULY 14, 2019 (Sunday) on Slovesnka Pristava, a recreational facility located in Harpersfield, Ohio. There is no admission or parking charge. Mass will be at Noon in the main pavilion. Dinner will served immediately after Mass and will consist of roasted chicken and/or roast beef with all the trimmings. Cost is $15 adult and $10 child under 12 years-old. Entertainment will begin around 1:30-2PM the orchestral sounds of the Cleveland Tops Swing Band (CTSB), a 17 piece orchestra with three singers. CTSB was established by late Cleveland musical legend, Vince Patti. CTSB consists of professional musicians, Cleveland area all-stars varied with solid credentials, from dance bands to theater pit orchestras and the Cleveland Orchestra. Current music director Jim Wonnacott with Larry “Patch” Paciorek, tenor sax and vocalist, former resident in the St. Clair Avenue neighborhood, and manager for the Cleveland Jazz orchestra for 10 years. In addition, the pleasing and wonderful sounds of the Alpine Sextet will also perform for your listening and dancing pleasure.
The kitchen will be open until 8PM serving side food dishes such as hamburgers, hot dogs, French fries, etc., as well as having refreshments available throughout the entire afternoon. An open pit will have a specialty dish, Slovenian style “cevapcici,” after the dinner. We are also pleased to announce that a variety of fine wines will be available from Kosicek Vineyards, a Geneva, Ohio wine establishment. Other activities include open swimming (nominal fee for non-members of Slovenska Pristava), children’s inter- active games, and Chinese craft raffle.
Directions to Slovenska Pristava: Take I-90 east to the Geneva Exit (Route #534). Take Rte 534 south to South River Road, about two miles. Turn right on South River Road. Take South River Rd. approximately one mile to Brandt Road. Turn right at Brandt Rd. SP is about ½ mile down. Call the parish house at (216) 361-1444 for other information.
