Open House. New Parish Hall. October 24-25, 2020.
All parishioners, Alumni, friends, and benefactors are cordially invited to an OPEN HOUSE of the new parish hall on the weekend of OCTOBER 24-25, 2020 AFTER the weekend Masses. Saturday Vigil Mass is at 4:00PM while Sunday Masses are at 9:00AM and 10:30AM.
The new St Vitus Hall is located directly across the street from St. Vitus Church at 6022 Lausche Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44103. You will be able to view work in progress as well as see what work still needs to be completed. Targeted completion date (everything completed) is in Feb-Mar 2021. In the new parish hall are:
–new kitchen.
–new take-out dinners, brunch, breakfast area.
–main hall area.
–education, cultural, meeting rooms (four).
–new stage area.
–new walk in cooler room and new pantry room.
–new restrooms.
–new storage areas.
In addition, this project was awarded a grant from Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (NEORSD) to install new permeable pavers vs. asphalt and concrete to reduce 500,000 gallons of rain, melted snow, etc., that will go directly into the ground rather than be treated in the regional sewer system. Approximately 69-to-70 cars will be permitted for parking purposes. The estimated cost of the new parish hall is at $3.3 Million. Drake Construction Co. is the general contractor for this project that began in March 2020.
Donations for support of the new parish hall may be sent to St. Vitus Rectory, 6019 Lausche Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44103. Checks are to be made payable to: “St. Vitus Endowment Trust.” Donations from $1,000–to-$5,000 or more will have engraved red rose colored bricks provided based on level of donation. A maximum of four bricks per donor are permitted with three lines per each brick and 16 characters per each line. A comma, space, etc., is considered a character. St. Vitus Parish was established in Aug. 1839 as the first American Slovenian Roman Catholic parish in the state of Ohio and diocese of Cleveland.
