Memorial Day Observance, May 2016 (Gallery)

St Vitus Catholic War Veterans Post 1655 paid homage to fallen veterans who honorably served US Military Armed Services (US Army, US Air Force, US Marines and US Navy; and US Merchant Marines and Reserved) at a 9:00AM Mass on May 29, 2016 in St. Vitus Church. All fallen veterans, US Veterans killed in action as well as deceased US Veterans of CWV Pots 1655 had their names read. After the Mass, laying of the wreath, gun salute and playing of “taps” occurred in the parish rectory court yard. A Veteran Memorial Monument was dedicated in Nov. 2009 for all fallen US Veterans of CWV Post 1655.

Note: Over 750 parishioners from St. Vitus Parish served during WWII with nearly 40 killed in action.
