Joseph R. Tomsick. CEO. Lake County Council On Aging. Guest Speaker. Jan 22, 2023 (Sunday). St. Vitus Social Hall

In observance of the upcoming 130th Year Anniversray of the founding of St Vitus Parish (1893-2023), St. Vitus Parish is pleased to announce Joseph R. Tomsick, CEO, Lake County Council On Aging, will be a guest speaker on Jan. 22, 2023 (Sunday) in new St. Vitus social hall AFTER the 9:00AM Mass in St. Vitus Church, 6019 Lausche Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44103. The new hall is located directly across the street from St. Vitus Church.

Joe Tomsick has over 26 years of experience in for-profit, government, and not-for-profit sectors. He was appointed CEO of LCCOA, a Lake County, state of Ohio, agency that assists and addresses a number of related concerns and issues pertinent to seniors, in 2012. Mr. Tomsick attended, and graduated from, respectively, St. Vitus Elementary School, St. Ignatius High School, and John Carroll University, bachelor of arts degree, Sociology major. He is also founder of “JTO,” Joe Tomsick Orchestra, and is an accomplished musician. Joe hosts a radio program on WINT radio and is a trustee of Lake Health District Fund Corporation. He was also the past president of Mentor Rotary. His main talk will be on aging and resources and services available for Lake County residents (as well as seniors in general). Joe is also a member of St. Anne Lodge #4 AMLA and American Slovenian Catholic Union (KSKJ). AMLA and KSKJ are fraternal benefit societies originally founded by immigrant Slovenians in the USA.

Small fun fact of the Tomsick family: originally settled in the state of Colorado where a number of Slovenian immigrants settled to work in the mining industry. Second fun fact: Joe’s late father, “Ken,” was in a local singing group of American Slovenians involved in St Vitus Parish and his late mother, Ann, was an accomplished cook and baker, known for baking one great “cassata” cake.

Joe’s talk will be AFTER the 9:00AM Mass in the new parish social hall. Pastry, coffee, juice and water will be provided. There is no admission charge. Good-will donations, however, will be accepted with donations for support of the parish food bank. Open to the general public. This event is sponsored by St. Vitus Parish, in observance of the 130th Year Anniversary of its founding (1893-2023) and St. Anne Lodge #4 AMLA.
