First Mass – Rev. Andrew Rudmann: June 9, 2019

Reverend Andrew Rudmann, parishioner from St. Vitus Parish, will have a “First Mass” and Mass of Thanksgiving in St. Vitus Church, 6019 Lausche Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44103, on June 9, 2019 at an All Parish Mass at 10AM.

Andrew is the eldest of seven children. He attended Catholic schools in northeast Ohio including graduating from St. Ignatius High School. He then attended and graduated from Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio with a bachelor’s degree in business and minor in chemistry. . He was two years out of college with a job, an acceptance letter to attend Duquesne University’s Pharmacy School; and to be engaged. He,  however, responded to a stronger call to become a priest in the Roman Catholic Church. Through a friend from college, he discussed this matter with Archbishop Gregory Aymond, archdiocese of New Orleans. Their conversation led to Rudmann being enrolled in Notre Dame Seminary in 2013. He is now concluding his studies at NDS and will be ordained a Roman Catholic priest in the archdiocese of New Orleans on June 1, 2019.

After the First Mass and Mass of Thanksgiving there will be a social gathering and opportunity to meet Rev. Rudmann in St. Vitus Parish Auditorium, 6111 Lausche Avenue Cleveland Ohio 44103. Light finger food, pastry and refreshments will be available. Rev. Rudmann is to return to the archdiocese of New Orleans where he is incardinated (has faculty to serve as a priest) and be of service to the archdiocese of New Orleans. .

This is the first ordination as a Roman Catholic priest from St. Vitus parish in 40 years. All are welcome to attend the all Parish Mass and then social gathering. For additional information call the parish rectory at (216) 361-1444.
