Cleveland Youth Orchestra Concert – March 2nd
The Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra (COYO), one of northeast Ohio’s musical venues for serious young musicians, will have its ensemble perform in St. Vitus Church, 6019 Lausche Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44103, on March 2, 2016 (Wednesday). Concert is to begin at approximately 6:00PM. The Youth Orchestra has performed 130+ concerts; and provided this venue as an opportunity to more than 1,300 talented young musicians. The Youth Orchestra was established in 1986 by Jahja Ling, then associate conductor of the Cleveland Orchestra. He served as its music director for six seasons. Mr. Brett Mitchell was introduced in Aug. 2013 as the seventh COYO Music Director. Mr. Mitchell has continued to expand the youth orchestra program by leading COYO students on their successful second international tour in June 2015 to China.
Concert is free admission with good-will offerings gladly accepted. There will be light refreshments and pastry in the lower church hall immediately after the concert.
