Fun fact: The Carniolan bee is the most Western type bee used for centuries for pollination in Europe and the USA, originating in Slovenia. It is favored for its ability to defend itself against insect pests and being gentle in its behavior toward beekeepers. The Carniolan bee is also particularly adept at adjusting worker population to nectar availability. Slovenian beekeepers are known for their artistic type of bee hives.
